The Global Betting Integrity Organization (IBIA) has joined forces with the Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming (IBJR) to collaborate in combating match-fixing in Brazil.
The IBJR and the IBIA have inked an agreement to safeguard betting integrity. This collaboration will aid in the fight against match-fixing and enhance surveillance of sporting events in Brazil.
This development follows closely on the heels of Brazil’s announcement of its plans to regulate sports betting, a significant stride forward.
AndrĂ© Gelfi, the leader of the IBJR, stated, “It’s crucial to establish regulations for the industry to enable government oversight and collaborative efforts to curb match-fixing. This will safeguard sports betting companies and Brazilian bettors.” “We’ve introduced IBIA representatives to key figures within the government to work together and address this issue.”
Khalid Ali, the head of the IBIA, emphasized the shared objective of both organizations to protect Brazilian consumers.
“The IBIA is delighted to have forged this significant accord with the IBJR,” said Ali. “It’s evident that we share common values and aspirations for the Brazilian sports betting market.”
This places a significant focus on the excellence of gaming products and safeguarding Brazilian consumers and sporting events.
“We are currently exploring collaborations on projects that will assist us in attaining these crucial objectives.”
