Spanish gambling income achieved €216 million (£184.7 million) in the second trimester, up 3.4% year-on-year.

Spanish gambling income increased in the second trimester
Casino income was the primary contributor to total income, accounting for 46.3% of the total at €99.9 million. Casino income was up 6.7% year-on-year and 0.4% compared to the prior trimester.
Betting income accounted for 45.6% of total income at €92 million, up 35.0% year-on-year, while poker income accounted for 9.4% of total income at €20.3 million.
Total player deposits were €675.6 million, up 41.8% compared to 2020. Player withdrawals also increased significantly, up 70.8% to €477.2 million.
Total marketing spending was €128.4 million, down 13.4% compared to the initial trimester of 2021. Affiliate spending was €10 million, promotional spending was €49.2 million, and advertising spending was €61.6 million. Sponsorship spending was an additional €7.6 million.
There were an average of 991,196 active gambling accounts per month in the second trimester, up 54.2% year-on-year, with 231,167 new accounts added.
