Playson, a developer of gaming content, has sadly announced the passing of Oleksandr Honcharuk, their Head of Content Creation. He perished while courageously defending Ukraine.
Honcharuk joined Playson in 2020 and was situated in Kyiv, Ukraine. Prior to Playson, he served as a consultant for casino games and was a Game Director and Product Manager at Techona in the Czech Republic.
He also held positions at Playtech and NetEnt, where he was a Game Producer, Studio Manager, and Head of Artistic Directors.
Playson stated, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a remarkable individual. He was a fantastic colleague and friend. His creativity and enthusiasm were critical to Playson’s recent achievements. He will be missed by the entire field.”
Playson conveyed their sympathy to Honcharuk’s family and close associates.
In March, Playson revealed that many of their workers had volunteered to protect Ukraine.
A number of workers took on the duty of combating false information and assisted in providing shelter, sustenance, and logistical support to Ukrainian refugees, while others volunteered to join the Ukrainian military.
The conflict in Ukraine has affected numerous enterprises in the gaming sector, as Ukraine boasts a diverse array of operators and providers.
