A provider of online casinos, Play’n Go, has been given the green light by the Buenos Aires City Gaming Regulator, Lotería de la ciudad de Buenos Aires (LOTBA), to offer online slot games to authorized operators in the Argentinian capital.
Play’n Go has already been approved in the province of Buenos Aires, so it is now certified to provide its products throughout the largest and most populated province in Argentina, which has a population of roughly 17 million.
Play’n Go states that its new certification ensures that any operators currently working with the company can expand to Buenos Aires and can confidently continue to offer Play’n Go content in the market.
The supplier’s Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, Sissel Weitzhandler, said: “Our strategy remains to engage in every regulated area with care and caution.
“The speed of re-regulation in Argentina is very encouraging and we are eager to support our partners in this exciting new regulated market.”
Cristian Acuna, Head of Latin American Sales, added: “We are aware that attention in the Latin American region will be closely focused on Buenos Aires, but we are certain that our extensive and varied content portfolio will strongly appeal to players.”

In Argentina, each province is currently enacting regulations for online gambling independently.
In February of last year, the City of Buenos Aires established licensing criteria, with the goal of launching the market in the final quarter of 2020.
Last week, Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) and Argentine gaming and entertainment company Grupo Slot secured authorization to introduce a new gaming platform in the city, Jugadon.bet. This new online casino and sports betting brand is a joint venture between the two enterprises.
