Parx Casino Fined $10,000 for Allowing Minor to Gamble

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has levied a $10,000 penalty on Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment for permitting a minor to participate in gambling activities at Parx Casino. The casino operator was also sanctioned for instances where parents left their children unsupervised in the casino’s parking area.

The fine stems from a breach of the underage gambling legislation. An individual aged 18 was permitted to access the casino floor and engage in slot machine play at Parx Casino, situated in Bucks County.

As per the state’s gambling regulations, individuals under the age of 21 are prohibited from entering and remaining in any section of a licensed establishment that houses operational slot machines.

The PGCB also addressed three incidents involving parents leaving their children in vehicles within the casino parking lot to enter the gaming facility. The regulatory body did not reveal the specific casinos involved.

One parent left an 11-year-old child unattended in a car to claim a sports lottery ticket, another parent left an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old boy in a car to wager at a craps table, and another parent left four children, ranging in age from 2 to 13, unsupervised in a car to observe their acquaintance playing at a craps table.
