BetMGM Announced as Title Sponsor for Clarence House Chase Day at Ascot Racecourse

BetMGM is delighted to unveil its support of the esteemed Clarence House Chase Day at Ascot Racecourse. Scheduled for Saturday, January 20th, this year’s highly anticipated gathering guarantees an exhilarating display of top-tier steeplechase competition.

The partnership grants BetMGM naming rights to the day’s showcase event, the Grade 1 BetMGM Clarence House Chase. This storied race boasts a celebrated past, with victories claimed by legendary steeds like Altior, Arkle, and Sprinter Sacre. The spotlight this year falls on Jonbon and El Fabiolo, two of the sport’s most promising contenders, as they face off under the tutelage of champion trainers Nicky Henderson and Willie Mullins.

BetMGM’s involvement extends beyond the Clarence House Chase, with the brand also backing five additional races on the program, including the Grade 2 BetMGM Mares’ Hurdle (Registered as The Warfield).

Offering a record-breaking total prize purse of £415,000 distributed across seven races, the 2024 BetMGM Clarence House Chase Day is poised to be the most lucrative edition yet. This represents a substantial 13% surge from the 2022 prize fund of £366,400, further cementing the event’s position as a pinnacle of the jump racing season.

“We are incredibly enthusiastic about collaborating with Ascot for such a distinguished occasion,” remarked Sam Behar, Director of BetMGM UK. “Securing the title sponsorship of this major race day is a true privilege for BetMGM, and it underscores our dedication to horse racing. We eagerly await the unfolding spectacle and anticipate a thrilling contest between Jonbon and El Fabiolo!”

Ascot Racecourse’s Commercial Director and Deputy CEO, Felicity Barnard, shared her excitement about the collaboration, remarking, “We are delighted to have BetMGM join us as a partner for Royal Ascot and anticipate a close working relationship with them throughout the BetMGM Clarence House Chase.”

She highlighted the partnership’s importance in elevating the event’s stature and financial rewards, noting, “We are keen to cultivate our association with BetMGM, whose backing is crucial in our goal to provide an unprecedented prize pool on race day. The BetMGM Clarence House Chase consistently ranks among the season’s most anticipated events, and this year’s running is poised to be another captivating competition.”

This news follows closely on the heels of BetMGM’s recent agreement for naming rights to the Premier League Darts Championship earlier this month, indicating their expanding footprint within the UK sports arena.
