The Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) has designated a new head for its governing body. Dave Forestell, a board member since 2018, assumes this position with extensive experience, previously serving as chair of iGaming Ontario, an AGCO affiliate. Due to his commitment to the new AGCO role, Forestell has relinquished his iGaming Ontario position, and the search for his successor is ongoing.
Forestell’s history is firmly grounded in government and public service. His career commenced in 2008 with the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party as Vice President. He subsequently moved to the Prime Minister’s Office in Ottawa, fulfilling roles as a policy advisor and director. His background also encompasses acting as both Acting Executive Director and Senior Advisor to the Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. Forestell further contributes his knowledge as an OCAD University board member.
Forestell succeeds outgoing chair, Lalit Aggarwal, who recently declared his departure to focus on family and other business pursuits.
Between 2015 and 2017, Forrester briefly acted as Board Chair for Compañía Minera Casale. Before this, he occupied a Vice President role at Barrick Gold Corporation from 2014 to 2018.
His time at Scotiabank commenced in 2018 as Associate Vice President within the CEO’s office, and he progressed through the ranks to become Vice President in 2021, a position he maintained until 2022.
Following his departure from Scotiabank, Forrester moved to TC Energy in 2022, where he presently holds the Vice President, Canadian External Relations title. He has simultaneously held the Chair position at AGCO since 2022.
