The UK Jockey Club (UJC) has named John Ferguson as its next chief, taking over for Luca Cumani. A genuine racing enthusiast, Ferguson climbed the ladder, beginning as a stable hand and becoming a prosperous conditioner, proprietor, and breeder. He functioned as deputy conditioner to the celebrated Michael Stoute before branching out independently, conditioning an extraordinary 287 National Hunt victors. His proficiency encompasses bloodstock, having counseled patrons on thoroughbred propagation and founding the thriving Nattama Bloodstock enterprise in 2021 with locations in Europe, the United States, and Australia. Ferguson’s vocation also encompasses a substantial period from 1994 to 2017 with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Darley and Godolphin racing organizations. “My participation in racing has been a transformative experience surpassing my most ambitious aspirations,” remarked Ferguson. “Having been privileged to collaborate with numerous exceptional individuals, I am humbled and privileged to receive this chance.
