Global lottery giant, Allwyn, has partnered with Future Frames, an initiative at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival that highlights up-and-coming film directors. This alliance signifies a three-year pledge to fostering fresh directing talent.
The joint effort will reach its peak with an award bestowed during the festival, one of the planet’s most longstanding cinematic celebrations, founded in 1946. The festival unfolds in the Czech Republic, this year spanning from June 30th to July 8th.
Future Frames has been an integral element of the festival since 2015, each year choosing 10 directors to present their creations. Now, due to Allwyn’s support, one of these filmmakers will also receive a unique chance: a month-long residency in Los Angeles, encompassing mentorship, industry immersion, and professional development.
Pavel Turek, Allwyn’s Chief Officer for Global Brand, Corporate Communication and CSR, underscored the company’s commitment to “broadening the spectrum of victors” beyond lottery participants and into the broader community, enhancing lives for a greater number of individuals through prospects like this one.
Kristof Mucha, the top dog at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, expressed his enthusiasm for the recent collaboration. He believes it’s a fantastic opportunity for emerging European filmmakers, providing them with a boost in the field and a platform to truly establish themselves.
